| Description: | This resource blends language arts with character education. It consists of nine stories about social dilemmas narrated by a professional storyteller on DVD. Borrowing from his childhood memories, and using puppets and beautiful artwork, the narrator invites students to experience the magic of imagination and examine "What if?" scenarios based on the stories. The themes explore such universal values as respect, cooperation, courage, perseverance, integrity, and more. Follow-up discussion questions aimed at helping students internalize themes are provided, along with a variety of interactive activities to build literacy skills, including story maps, vocabulary exploration, and role play. Each grade-level set includes DVDs, story books, and a teacher's manual. Supplemental materials include parent handouts, lists of children’s literature, and related Web sites.
