Nutrition to Grow On
Description: This curriculum contains nine nutrition lessons. Each lesson is complemented with a gardening activity that uses students' observation, research, and critical-thinking skills. Students learn how to evaluate product information, read food labels, grow plants from seeds, distinguish between stems, roots, leaves, and fruits. Each lesson is complete with student work sheets, answer sheets, and family newsletters. Applicable California language arts, mathematics, and science content standards are identified in the appendix.
Reviewers' Notes: Instructional design is fun and interactive. Lessons are adaptable and easy to integrate into the classroom. Includes a supplement to address MyPyramid for children.
